10 arrested in India over PUBG addiction - BlockInspect
PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG) has been revolutionary in the world of gaming. Enthusiasts across the world have embraced the game. However, few have gone beyond and treated it far more seriously than a game should be probably perceived as.

Recently, 10 college going students have been arrested by the Police in India. Reportedly, the students were too engrossed in the game to actually notice the police approaching them. They were later released on bail. The Government if Gujarat, earlier this week banned the game deeming it as too violent and addictive. This came after a number of parents and educators complained that the game distracted students from studying. A local minister in Gujarat even went to the extent of calling the game “a demon in every house.” PUBG still continues to be legal in rest of India.

Bluehole, PUBG’s parent company recently released a statement saying, “we also believe that it is extremely important for us to be a responsible member of the gaming ecosystem. To this end, we constantly work and shall continue to work with … parents, educators, and government bodies, and listen to their feedback on what we can do.”

While PUBG is becoming an increasingly easy target for law enforcers, it would be interesting to note how the game crafts itself in near future to offer a more subtle and soothing gaming experience, if at all.
